| Telemann Oboe Concerto Nel 1994 ad Arezzo, in Italia, durante le prove di alcuni concerti di Vivaldi che stavano per essere eseguiti, ho avuto l’opportunità di incontrare Arthur Ebby Needers, un oboista e critico musicale danese, il quale, discutendo delle prossime esibizioni, mi ha parlato di alcuni progetti che stava sviluppando riguardo ai concerti per oboe di Georg Philipp Telemann, chiedendomi di riscriverne alcuni dai manoscritti in suo possesso. In verità, visionando i manoscritti, mi sono accorto che erano già di dominio pubblico ma con poche ricostruzioni e trascrizioni. Decisi allora di accettare l’incarico, e che dopo aver ricostruito i concerti per oboe TWV 51:d1, TWV 51:d2, TWV 51:D5, TWV 51:Es1 e TWV 51:f1, avrei eseguito anche le trascrizioni per solo oboe e clavicembalo o pianoforte. Nell’ottobre dello stesso anno, tornato a Roma, iniziai subito le ricostruzioni e quindi anche il concerto in fa minore TWV 51:f1 per oboe solo, archi e basso continuo di cui parliamo. Una volta terminato il concerto, compresa la parte del clavicembalo realizzata dal continuo, ho effettuato anche la trascrizione per la versione oboe e clavicembalo o pianoforte. Per quanto riguarda la fonte di questo concerto, il manoscritto riporta la dicitura: “Ms.ca. 1740 data di copia, e J.S. Endler copista”. Ho poi verificato che il manoscritto è conservato presso la Universitäts – und Landesbibliothek di Darmstadt, in Germania, ma non si conosce la data di composizione. Nel gennaio 1995 tutti i concerti sopra menzionati, compreso quello riportato in questo articolo, furono inviati ad Arthur Ebby Needers e l’anno successivo stampati per la pubblicazione. La data di pubblicazione del Concerto Oboe in fa maggiore TW 51:f1 come vedrai è il 2017, questa è stata la mia scelta per dare ad Arthur la possibilità di esibirsi senza problemi di copyright. Successivamente mi è stato comunicato che i quattro concerti ricostruiti sono stati eseguiti in Belgio, Irlanda, Amburgo (Germania), Lione (Parigi), Portland (Oregon-Stati Uniti). | Telemann Oboe Concerto In 1994 in Arezzo Italy, during rehearsals for some Vivaldi concerts that were about to be performed, I had the opportunity to meet Arthur Ebby Needers, a Danish oboist and music critic, who, while discussing the upcoming performances, told me about some projects he was developing regarding the concerts for oboe by Georg Philipp Telemann, asking me to rewrite some of them from the manuscripts in his possession. In truth, while viewing the manuscripts, I realized that they were already in the public domain but with few reconstructions and transcriptions. So I decided to accept the assignment, and that after having reconstructed the oboe concertos TWV 51:d1, TWV 51:d2, TWV 51:D5, TWV 51:Es1 and TWV 51:f1, I would also carry out the transcriptions for solo oboe and harpsichord or piano. In October of the same year, upon returning to Rome, I immediately began the reconstructions and therefore also the concerto in F minor TWV 51:f1 for solo oboe, strings and continuo that we are talking about. Once the concert was completed, including the harpsichord part performed continuously, I also made the transcription for the oboe and harpsichord or piano version. As regards the source of this concert, the manuscript contains the words: “Ms.ca. 1740 date of copy, and J.S. Endler copyist”. I then verified that the manuscript is kept at the Universitäts – und Landesbibliothek in Darmstadt, Germany, but the date of composition is unknown. In January 1995 all the concerts mentioned above including the one in this article were sent to Arthur Ebby Needers, and the following year printed for publication. The publication date of the Concert Oboe in F major TW 51:f1 as you will see is 2017, this was my choice to give Arthur the opportunity to perform without copyright problems. I was subsequently informed that the four reconstructed concerts were performed in Belgium, Ireland, Hamburg (Germany), Lyon (Paris), Portland (Oregon-United States). |
