| Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688-1758), composer of this sonata, was an excellent German violinist and composer of the Baroque period. His musical activity at that time was a bit difficult as he did not have a patron to help him disseminate his works, but he was known and appreciated by famous musicians such as Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach who made arrangements of his works. During his existence, Fasch did not have the possibility of having his works published, and only after his death were his innumerable compositions discovered and catalogued, including many orchestral suites and concerts for various instruments, Sonatas, including one published in this article, but also Sacred Cantatas, Oratorios, Masses, many Symphonies and Chamber pieces. Furthermore he also made copies of reconstructions by other composers. The rediscovery of Johann Friedrich Fasch for Baroque and Classical music was an added value to the study and perfection of musical composition. The Sonata in C major for Bassoon and Continuo composed by Fasch between 1720 and 1728 and cataloged FaWv Nc-1, was reconstructed from the manuscript kept at the Schloßbibliothek Arnsberg-Herdringen (Bibliotheca Fürstenbergiana, D-HRD). The part for the harpsichord was created from the development we made from the Basso Continuo. La sua attività musicale in quel periodo fu un po’ difficile in quanto non aveva un mecenate che lo aiutasse a diffondere le sue opere, ma era conosciuto ed apprezzato da musicisti famosi come Georg Philipp Telemann e Johann Sebastian Bach che realizzarono arrangiamenti delle sue opere. Durante la sua esistenza Fasch non ebbe la possibilità di pubblicare le sue opere, e solo dopo la sua morte furono scoperte e catalogate le sue innumerevoli composizioni, tra cui numerose suite orchestrali e concerti per vari strumenti. Sonate, inclusa quella pubblicata in questo articolo, ma anche Cantate Sacre, Oratori, Messe, numerose Sinfonie e brani da Camera. Inoltre realizzò anche copie di ricostruzioni di altri compositori. La riscoperta di Johann Friedrich Fasch per la musica barocca e classica fu un valore aggiunto allo studio e al perfezionamento della composizione musicale. La Sonata in do maggiore per fagotto e basso continuo, composta da Fasch tra il 1720 e il 1728 e catalogata FaWv Nc-1, è stata ricostruita dal manoscritto conservato presso la Schloßbibliothek Arnsberg-Herdringen (Bibliotheca Fürstenbergiana, D-HRD). La parte per il clavicembalo è nata dallo sviluppo che abbiamo fatto del Basso Continuo.
