| La sinfonia No.40 in sol minore fu composta da Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a Vienna nel 1788. Chiamata “La Grande Sinfonia”, è forse la più conosciuta e la più eseguita. La strumentazione originale impostata da Mozart è per flauto, 2 oboi, 2 clarinetti che però Mozart aggiunse in una seconda versione, 2 fagotti, 2 corni e archi. La cosa strana ma possibile è che in questa sinfonia non ci sono trombe e nemmeno timpani come in altre sinfonie. Mozart compose questa sinfonia in 4 movimenti che canonicamente riflettono la struttura classica. Primo movimento: Allegro molto, secondo movimento: Andante, terzo movimento: Minuetto e Trio con tempo di Allegretto, quarto movimento: Finale in Allegro assai. La nostra trascrizione è stata eseguita per la prima volta a Roma nel 1997 per 2 pianoforti e nel 2014 abbiamo realizzato la versione per pianoforte solo. | Symphony No.40 in G minor was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Vienna in 1788. Called “The Great Symphony”, it is perhaps the best known and most performed. The original instrumentation set by Mozart is for flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets which however Mozart added in a second version, 2 bassoons, 2 horns and strings. The strange but possible thing is that in this symphony there are no trumpets or even timpani as in other symphonies. Mozart composed this symphony with 4 movements that canonically reflect the classical structure. First movement: Allegro molto, second movement: Andante, third movement: Minuet and Trio with Allegretto tempo, fourth movement: Finale in Allegro assai. Our transcription was performed for the first time in Rome in 1997 for 2 pianos and in 2014 we created the version for solo piano. |
